Festival Information

Ely Folk Festival committee looks forward to welcoming you to the 23rd Ely Folk Festival. We hope you will enjoy the weekend.

Arriving on site:

The festival site and Box Office opens at 1pm on Friday so please don’t arrive before then unless you are stewarding or have a particular reason to be early, in which case please phone us beforehand to make access arrangements. If you are attending for one day only you will be directed to park in the visitor car park. You will then be directed to the Box Office to obtain your wristband and festival information before entering the main site. The festival officially opens at 6pm when Traders and the Bar will be open for business.

Camping:

Campers will be directed to drive down to the main festival site entrance to report to the Box Office. You will then be instructed how to proceed. As a fire safety condition, a space of 3m will be required between all tents and 6m between caravans /camper-vans. This will be strictly adhered to this year. Stewards will be directing campers to their allocated areas to ensure best use of the space. Please be patient during campsite set up and comply with our stewards’ directions, they are there to ensure as many camping pitches as possible can be accommodated on the site. Space for caravans and camper vans on the main site is limited to the perimeter of the camping area and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Tent campers will be able to bring cars onto the main campsite to unload (weather permitting) but must then move them into the car park. The campsite must be cleared by midday on Monday 14th July. Further information for campers will be provided on arrival.

Disabled Facilities:

A reserved pitch can be made available for physically disabled campers close to facilities if requested in advance. If you need a camping pitch reserved please ring Trish on 01353 614164. A disabled accessible toilet is available. There is space to provide a disabled viewing area in Marquee 1, and a wheelchair access ramp in provided onto the raised floor in marquee 2. If you require advice or further information before the festival please call the above number.

Fire Safety:

Fires are not allowed on site. Barbecues are allowed provided they are properly constructed and at least 18in off the ground. Disposable barbecues are not allowed. Please do not block fire routes around camping area with vehicles.

Showers and Toilets:

Indoor toilets and showers are located in the Football Club building. Temporary toilets including a disabled accessible toilet will be available at various locations around the main festival and camping areas.

Buses:

A free shuttle bus service will be on hand to ferry you between the festival site and Market Street in Ely town centre. Buses start running at 2pm on Friday and will run approximately every twenty minutes. The shuttle bus will also pick up at Ely Railway Station between 2pm – 8pm on Friday. If you need to be collected from the station outside of these times please contact us before the festival and we will accommodate your request if possible.

Smoking:

Smoking will not be permitted in any of the marquees, beer tent, or any other enclosed space. Your co-operation is appreciated.

Dogs:

Dogs are permitted on the festival site and will be issued with a ‘dog tag’ at the Festival Box Office. They must be kept on a leash at all times and owners must clean up any mess they make. Plastic “poop” bags will be available, free of charge, at the Box Office on site. Lost/found dogs should be reported to Control.

Stewards:

They are here for your guidance and safety – please remember they are all volunteers with a job to do. Please give them your support and follow their instructions – when on duty they will be wearing a tabard and badge.

Concerts:

The first concert starts at 7.00pm on Friday 11th July on Main Stage 1.

Loss or Damage to Property:

Ely Folk Festival cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage to vehicles or other property on the festival site, any item of lost property should be handed into Festival Control, which is located near the main marquee.
